WILTON – April is the anniversary month of Wilton’s 200th year celebration and we are bringing history back to life all weekend long April 20-22nd. On Friday, April 20th visit the fountain area of the Wilton Mall from 6 to 7:30pm where you can visit with Wilton civic groups and non-profit organizations, witness a reenactment of Wilton’s first Town Meeting beginning at 7pm and enjoy light refreshments. At 7:45pm the first viewing of the Wilton 200 Bicentennial Documentary Film will premiere at Wilton Bowtie Cinema.
Wilton’s Bicentennial Historic Celebration Weekend continues Saturday and Sunday with self-guided tours of Wilton historic sites from 10am-3pm both days. Tour maps will be available both days at the Wilton Heritage Museum.
The tour will culminate each day with a gathering at historic Camp Saratoga, now part of Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample Stewart’s limited-time Wilton Bicentennial ice cream flavor – “Karner Blueberry”. The Historic Weekend Celebration will also be the launch of the Wilton 200 Kids’ Quest, developed by Wilton Boy Scout Troop 24. For more information go to wiltonbicentennial.com.
